Burnaby strata management is our specialty – C&C supports Burnaby’s diverse strata communities with local expertise, proactive service, and a boutique touch.
From high-rise towers in Metrotown and Brentwood to welcoming townhomes in Edmonds, we help your strata thrive in one of BC’s fastest-growing cities.

Burnaby is BC’s third-largest city yet it’s still growing fast, and not only in the Brentwood high-rises. This growth brings dynamism but puts pressures on nearby stratas. Hoping the Civil Resolutions Tribunal might help you out? Don’t hold your breath: the CRT’s backlog sits at over 6,000 cases and continues to grow. No, you need a strata management company that can lead the way. Here’s how we help you navigate:

Burnaby’s skyline is changing, and so are its rules. The surge of development has brought more residents, evolving bylaws, and shifting municipal requirements. Our managers stay on top of Burnaby’s and BC’s latest regulations, so your strata remains ahead of the compliance curve.
For example, with Burnaby’s reduced parking requirements for new developments, and the end of single-family zoning leading to more density, your strata may want to approach the city for Residents-Only parking on your street. We have done this successfully for some of our clients.
As another example, the Province of BC has removed the ability to defer the Depreciation Report so that essentially all Burnaby stratas are now required to have one by July 1, 2026.

Getting work done in a Burnaby strata isn’t just about hiring a contractor and swinging a hammer – there’s a process, and it pays to get it right the first time. Here’s how to steer your community through the city’s permitting maze, avoid costly headaches, and keep your project on track.
Before contacting the city, strata owners must submit a detailed renovation or construction request to the Strata Council. This includes reviewing your strata’s bylaws and renovation rules. The Council reviews the application, and once approved, the strata manager issues a formal letter of consent. This letter is often required by the City of Burnaby before any permits are issued. Your strata manager can handle much of this process for you, though the approval decision must come from Strata Council.
For most renovation or significant repair projects, you’ll need a building permit. This includes:
The application requires:
Separate permits are needed for electrical, plumbing, gas, and fire sprinkler work. These can be submitted with the main application but won’t be issued until the building permit is approved.
Only with all of the above will the City of Burnaby then review your application.
